The Dentist to the Stars–Dr. Steve Mark Gan, definitely knows all about making a statement by opening the biggest dental facility in the country, right in the heart of Cebu.

Dr. Gan founded the GAN Advanced Osseointegration Center or GAOC in 2001, fresh off his extensive training in the United States. Putting much value in excellent dental care, it did not take too long before GAOC gained popularity, noting that they make sure their clients don’t feel like going to the dentist, but to a spa. He shared that Lindsay Custodio and Lorna Tolentino were one of their first few celebrity clients. “…till one day, Boy Abunda walked into the clinic and changed our lives forever,” talking about how the TV personality started promoting GAOC on his TV shows. Since then, GAOC saw exponential growth. His clientele now includes almost all the biggest names in Philippine showbiz and government.

Why Cebu?

Without hesitation, Dr. Gan reveals how he loves the food in Cebu, and that he believes Cebuano food is the best in the Philippines. He loves it in Cebu so much, he is even thinking of maybe retiring in Cebu someday. Other than that, he took into consideration the number of clients from Visayas and Mindanao that travel all the way to Manila to have their dental needs served at GAOC. By opening up shop in Cebu, they’re bringing the most advanced dental technologies closer to this part of the country.

Will it cost more if the procedure is personally done by you (Dr. Gan)?

“No. It’s not about the money,” he said. He is convicted in his passion which drives him to give the best service to his clients. He doesn’t seem to care either as he enjoys performing the more complex procedures.

While some people specifically request for Dr. Gan to personally attend to their dental needs, others just might be lucky to have him as Dr. Gan randomly takes on some client procedures when on site (Cebu) at least twice a month. Oral, maxillo-facial reconstructions are one of his favorites to do.

Today, the renowned GAOC has put the Philippines on the map as one of the leading dental centers in Asia along with Taiwan, Singapore, and Thailand, offering extensive dental services and technologies at par with most state-of-the-art clinics in the United States and Europe.

They now have 8 branches, with only one outside Manila, located at the 3rd floor of SM Seaside City Cebu.
